Music and Getting Into Heaven

Music is my morphine, pick up...just whatever I need it to be. As a result I have music from most genres. It's the lyrics that apply to my life or that I can relate to that get me, even if it's rap though it rarely captures me...until Nasty Girl. Yeah, I know. I was hanging out at my aunt's house, with whom my 2 19 males cousins and brother stay with. At such you can imagine the big screen is usually on BET or something. One day this particular song came on, and thanks to Ludacris's diction and enunciation I understood every word the first time around and started kinda moving to it. Big. Mistake.

You see, I'm the proper female cousin they respect, look up to, talk to about their girlfriends or mistresses or whatever at and even hang out with gently. No one would classify me as hardcore enough to listen to rap of any kind let alone a song called Nasty Girl. But I love it, lol because I think of Kay the whole time. She's a stylish classy lady outside, but erm. Yeah. This song makes me laugh just thinking about how you just wouldn't guess about some people, those classy ladies who get down in the bedroom.

Anyway, my cousins just kind of looked at me funny but smiled and were like heeeey, lol. I've since downloaded it. I don't want them to get a peep at that side of me just yet (or maybe never) lol, that's why I say a big mistake.

Funnily enough I learned to focus on lyrics in a church youth group session. The teacher was telling us that music is not bad, that it's more about what we're letting into our heads. She was saying the words and message of the song and how it affects us is what is important.

I don't imagine this song is getting me into heaven. But I could argue that it would contribute to the sanctity and harmonious monogamy of my future marriage to this woman.

Lol.

  3. How right you are! I had to chuckle when I read this post because the first time I heard "Paralyzer" I immediately thought of GG. Mainly the line "If your body matches what your eyes can do you're gonna move right through me on my way to you."
Holy crap that describes how much she affects me!
