Not Without Drama

Yes, it's true. My relationship with Kay has not been without its drama. I just remembered this a little ago while ago when I was on the phone with The Man and Kay called. I couldn't take her call right away. She then sent a text that asked who I speaking to, that she was jealous as hell.

I must admit this brushed my ego a bit, lol.

She's not without reason to be though. I dated another woman while with Kay. I know, I know. But it's not what you think. My heart was still with her, but we weren't technically together. It came at a time where things got intense in both my marriage and feelings for her. I was feeling like I couldn't juggle both, but thought I was handling things well. Both parties let me know I was not. Kay said she should walk away for a little while, we should just be friend for the time being... and to my surprise (because she's admittedly very jealous!) suggest maybe we see other people but be transparent about it.

I was hesitant about it at first, but she sounded really mature and logical about it...so I said ok. As soon as I told one of my friends here about it, it wasn't an hour before she asked me out. Our correspondence began with her asking if we could chat, but I'd made it clear I was happily involved and she was cool with that...besides we clicked very very well as friends and had a lot of interests in common. But from time to time, she would drop statements telling me how sexy my voice is, how she wishes she could find a girl like me...etc. So it wasn't a complete surprise. It went ok, but the whole thing was like a friends with benefits thing. I knew I could never love her...we were too much alike and really I liked her much better as a friend. But she was completely stress free, and totally without drama which worked for me at the time. Girl scared me when she mentioned love one time...she didn't mention it again after that. Kay had a girl that had been interested in her at work, but was saying she wouldn't date anyone even if it was she that had made the suggestion. However, the girl came over one day, and they had a half encounter meaning nothing below the waist...

But not before I had one with Locs....
