I don't even eat cake really. On the rare ocassion I have a craving, it's for the simpler variety, like a pound cake. No icing needed to taste all it's goody goodness. I will conscientiously scrape or peel off icing, too sweet and unnecessary. Just give me the base good stuff. The bread.
My life, my needs and wants are a lot like that. From the kind of car I choose, to my furniture, to my friends... to my taste in women. Quality over quantity.
With that in mind, I can only deal with one person at a time and have to scrape the icing off to sincerely enjoy the bread. There is no choice here, my girl is it. The Man happens to be the icing, only it isn't too sweet so much as simply unappealing.
